A complete overhaul of DZXRP’s Expansion quest system has now been deployed and successfully tested.
The previous collection of disconnected or outdated missions has been rebuilt into a structured network of arrival, public-contract and faction-driven story quests. Obsolete Trader X currency has been removed, navigation now relies more heavily on supplied coordinates, and the opposing roles of DISO and STAG have been significantly strengthened.
Establish Your Identity
Every new survivor is now offered an automatic, one-time arrival quest.
Upon accepting it, the survivor receives an arrival document that can be presented to either:
- Sheriff Ashcroft at DISO Headquarters; or
- The STAG representative at Portland’s visitor precinct.
The survivor receives:
- One personal passport
- $50
Choosing either contact does not join a faction or award faction reputation. It simply establishes the survivor’s identity within Deer Isle.
Public Noticeboard Contracts
Neutral public contracts can now be accepted and completed at either of two noticeboards:
- Stonington Trade House
- Portland bus terminus
The available contracts are:
- Firewood — $30
- Hunting — $100
These jobs award no faction reputation and can be completed at either noticeboard, regardless of where they were accepted.
The obsolete NBC Suit contract has been removed.
DISO Quest Chain
Peter Ashcroft now offers a fully reworked DISO storyline:
Supply Run: East Harbor
Deliver supplies to a DISO scout observing STAG activity at East Harbor.
Survivors are provided with the scout’s coordinates and must arrange sea or air transport. Those without access to suitable transport are encouraged to request assistance through UNICOM.
The Report
Return the scout’s intelligence report to Peter at DISO Headquarters.
Reward:
- $500
- 250 Guards reputation
Missing Scout: RCFI
Investigate the disappearance of Oliver, a DISO scout monitoring STAG activity near RCFI.
The mission leads to Oliver’s body and three hostile STAG operatives. As Oliver’s death is permanent within the story, this mission can only be completed once.
Reward:
- $1,000
- 500 Guards reputation
STAG Forward Camp: Oldfield
Locate and destroy a five-person STAG forward camp north of Oldfield.
This one-time operation concludes the current DISO storyline surrounding Oliver’s death and STAG’s inland expansion.
Reward:
- $1,500
- 750 Guards reputation
STAG Quest Chain
The STAG representative at Portland now offers an opposing story chain:
Prove Your Usefulness
Navigate to a STAG observation post using only the coordinates supplied by the representative.
There is no marked route, escort or payment for merely reaching the scout.
The Report
Carry the scout’s intelligence report back to Portland.
Reward:
- $500
- 250 Mercenaries reputation
No Witnesses
STAG orders the survivor to eliminate an isolated civilian camp at the old weed farm—including its unarmed occupants—to prevent information reaching DISO.
This is a one-time mission intended to make the moral distinction between the two factions unambiguous.
Reward:
- $2,000
- 750 Mercenaries reputation
Completing this work does not automatically make the survivor a member of STAG.
Additional Changes
- Portland’s STAG representative and operatives have been relocated to the visitor precinct.
- STAG combatants now consistently use the Mercenaries faction and appropriate STAG equipment.
- Incorrect and obsolete quest locations have been corrected.
- Trader X currency has been replaced throughout with Expansion USD.
- Reputation rewards now correspond to the faction commissioning the work.
- Story missions involving permanent deaths or destroyed camps are one-time assignments.
- Suitable routine work remains repeatable.
- Quest dialogue, objectives and briefings have been rewritten.
- Coordinates are supplied where appropriate to support genuine map reading.
- Several missions now encourage survivors to seek transport or assistance through UNICOM.
All arrival, noticeboard, DISO and STAG quests have been tested successfully on the live server.
This overhaul was configured by DZXRP using systems provided by DayZ Expansion, with survivor passports supported through the community-maintained Terje framework.
The work strengthens exploration, transport services, player cooperation and the developing conflict between DISO and STAG—without forcing survivors to support either side.
